Our Staff and Leadership

Our Organization

North Port Community UCC has a Church Council which has overall responsibility for our ministry and operations. Led by the Moderator, the leaders of other committees and groups are members of the Council. Three “at large” members are part of the council to represent the Church membership.

The Board of Deacons manages the ongoing ministry of the church. They facilitate everything from Communion to Worship & Music to Outreach and Evangelism.

The Board of Trustees manage the church’s funds and physical facility including the maintenance and upkeep of the building and grounds.

The Nominating Committee recommends qualified members for boards/committees and offices (Moderator, Clerk, Treasurer, Financial Secretary and associated assistants). At an annual meeting, the congregation votes to approve/disapproved the Nominating Committee recommendations. Boards and committees elected their officers on an annual basis. Generally, after an individual serves two terms they are not eligible to be nominated for a third term.

Other Committees are formed at the direction of the Council for the purpose of accomplishing differing aspects of ministry.
